Open to opportunities

Hey, I'm Rushi.
I automate networks.

Network automation engineer with an M.S. from Northeastern. I design multi-vendor topologies, write the code that provisions them, and build CI/CD pipelines that make sure everything actually works.

About
A little context.

I spent five years as a bank officer at Canara Bank in India โ€” managing operations, leading a team, and learning what it means when systems have to work without excuses.

Then I moved to Boston and earned my M.S. in Telecommunication Networks from Northeastern (3.71 GPA). That's where I fell in love with network automation โ€” writing Python against live routers, templating configs with Jinja2, and watching Ansible provision an entire branch office in under 60 seconds.

These days I spend my time building NetDevOps workflows: multi-vendor topologies on Containerlab, CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, and validation suites with pytest and NAPALM. I think networks should deploy themselves and prove they work.

Netaform

Evolving
Network Automation, Endlessly Evolving

A phased network-as-code portfolio on Containerlab. Deploys an 8-node multi-vendor topology (Arista cEOS, Nokia SR Linux, FRRouting) with eBGP, OSPF, and VLANs. Provisioned by 5 Ansible role-based playbooks with Jinja2 templates โ€” zero-touch in under 60 seconds. Includes 7 Python NETCONF scripts, Maarpu (a config drift detector), and a GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline running 40 pytest tests via NAPALM that block merges on failure. Dual-layer secrets with Ansible Vault + GitHub Secrets, plus Gitleaks scanning.

AWS Auto-Scaling Infrastructure

Complete
Infrastructure as Code with Terraform & Ansible

Reduced deployment time by 75% with Terraform across 3 availability zones. Achieved 99.9% uptime using auto-scaling groups with CloudWatch monitoring (2โ€“10 instances, 70% CPU threshold). Cut provisioning time by 80% with custom AMIs built by Ansible playbooks across 15+ servers.

Integrated Network Setup on RedHat Linux โ€” Group Project

Built a full network services stack on RedHat 9 VMs in VMware Fusion. Configured DNS (primary + slave with zone transfers), DHCP with MAC-IP binding, Apache web server, firewall rules (blocking SSH/ICMP to web server), automated backup via cron + scp with SSH key auth, NFS file sharing, IPSec VPN (Libreswan) in transport mode between web and backup servers, and demonstrated a Man-in-the-Middle ARP poisoning attack using Python and Scapy.

Multi-Location Network Design and Optimization Using Cisco Packet Tracer

Complete
TELE5330 โ€” Data Networking, Northeastern University

Designed and built a 5-location enterprise network (Boston, Mumbai, London, New York, Germany) in Cisco Packet Tracer. Two HQ sites with 3 departments each and three branch offices, all interconnected via a multi-area OSPF backbone (6 areas). Implemented VLAN segmentation, DHCP with DNS, inter-VLAN routing, HSRP redundancy at HQ sites, RSTP at branches, extended ACLs restricting cross-department access to Finance, and port-security to defend against MAC flooding.
